Milan for 3 Years of Love

Date in Milano!

Sorry for being MIA for the last two weeks. It's been really busy, with 7 flights in 14 days and sleepless nights. But we had hit a new milestone in our relationship and had to take 3 days off to celebrate it: our 3rd year of dating!

Back to Milan, at the same hotel in the same dress. Not sure why this became our tradition, but with all of our travels and moving about it feels nice to have one thing that remains constant. Returning to Park Hyatt Milano where they give us the same room each year brings back a lot of memories. First year with the nervous butterflies. Second, incredulous that we lasted this long. Last year, laughing through the terrible food poisoning. Nostalgia in hotels is a novelty.

They gave us the same suite as always. Room #501 uses the same music and fragrance, so you instantly feel at home.

Bedroom

My favorite, the marble/gold bathroom

Oversized mirrors and tub

The shower with 8 showerheads and touch screen thermal/pressure control with music.... AWESOME.

This is how the bedrom is set up, between living room and walk in closet adjoining the bathroom.

Nice little welcome - champagne and fruits. They replaced whatever was eaten - mainly bananas and strawberries!

Outfit during my night out

They changed chadelier in the lobby

The lion's head artwork is also replaced by a round...thing.

And of course, the annual red Herve Leger dress photoshoot.

Take 2 - it was cold.

We did more outdoor activities this year, since last year I was stuck in bed from food poisoning the entire trip. We went to the Sforza Castle for the first time in 4 trips. It was a 15 minute walk from the hotel, if you want to judge me. It was overcrowded and tough to find a good spot for photos, but it's well kept and worth a visit.

Inside there is a reflection pool that is perfect for photos.

We did not realize the reason for the extra tourists that weekend until the 100th time we were suggested to go to the Expo. It's an annual one-month event held in different cities where each country has a temporary building/installation representing their culture along with the Expo theme. This year happened to be in Milan simply called Expo 2015 Milano.

The venue is huge, taking about an hour walk from entrance to exit and expected to cater to 20 million visitors! The place was just incredible and difficult to appreciate in just photos. Each country had their own building and restaurants - even a chocolate village!

The best part is Italy's installations, including this 'Lake.' I was glad to have arrived late at night, since I have the feeling you won't get to appreciate during the day.

Ha, selfies with big cameras are always awkward.

  1. Jenny congrats on your 3 year anniversary. Your life is a whirlwind. I am so happy for you that you have found true love. You guys are such a cute couple. I love the tradition of going to the same hotel and wearing the same dress every year. It is something you can do forever.

The red Herve Leger dress looks so sexy on you. You are gorgeous. Did you buy it just for the trip 3 years ago. I love the body con shape on you. You cleavage is do die for. You look thinner in the dress than 3 years ago. am I right? Your love of dessert does not show. Do you only wear the dress once a year?

    Congrats again,

    Amanda

    1. Hey Amanda! Thanks so much :) you stopped by my twitch not long ago!

I had the dress before we met, but just something that I wore on our first real date and stuck with it. I wear it once a year since it feels more special that way. As far as thin goes, I think it's just the angle - no weight loss yet :P
