I've been in Vegas for nearly two months now and mostly been busy with the WSOP and this new project I'm working on called
Twitch, a platform for gamers who live stream. I haven't been as consistent as I should be, but it's occupying around 6 hours of my time every day.

Setting up for streaming |
I stayed at Vdara which offers amazing view from the corner suite. It's in the center of the strip with a kitchen to cook in and one of the only hotels without a casino, therefore, less crowd.

The view here at Vdara is fantastic during the day, but it really shines at night.

Aria/strip |
So aside from my rather mundane day-to-day life, I went out to eat at a few restaurants I highly recommend for casual dining. These are under $30 per person for amazing quality and quantity of food - I went to some of these more than once a week.
1.
Raku
By far the best Japanese restaurant, off strip. It's frequently voted as the single best restaurant in Las Vegas. As a result, it's near impossible to get a reservation if you call that day or even the day before. They specialize in cooked dishes, but sashimi is available if they are available in the market that day.
My favorites:
 |
Home made fresh tofu |
 |
Deep fried softshell crab |
 |
Smoked cherry tomatoes. Addictive!! |
 |
Juicy deep fried chicken. They get their chicken from a local farm and only the skin is crispy. |
2.
Sweets Raku
The new addition to Raku restaurant. It's got nothing to do with the Japanese cuisine at the original Raku, but they rather specialize in French style desserts. The cafe is a rather sterile lab-like bar with open kitchen layout and a wall of wines.

Two of our favorites were 'carib' and 'ringu.'
Carib is a mixture of mascarpone and mango with white chocolate and more mango sauce.
Ringu is an apple pie with honey ice cream and whipped cream stuffed candy shell that's shaped like an apple. So, so good.
3.
Estiatorio Milos
It makes the list once again. No wait and the $27 3-course lunch menu on the strip is a bargain to say the least. The seafood is so fresh I've actually witnessed a lobster making an escape out of the showcase box area one time.
 |
Milo's special, zucchini and eggplant chips with yogurt dip |
 |
Octopus |
 |
Lobster pasta |
 |
Fresh Greek yogurt |
4. Bachi Burger
I didn't really get to take so many photos since I always devour them before I get a chance. But trust me when I say, these burgers are delicious. It's a Japanese fusion known for delicious milk shakes and pork buns, but their burgers are amazing. Teriyaki, wagyu patty, Japanese pickles, foie gras - always crazy combinations with an explosion of flavor.
Did I mention I don't even like burgers? I don't even like burgers. And I love this place.
5.
Gyukaku
Got a craving for meat but those steaks on Las Vegas Strip seem way overpriced? Here's your next best bet: Japanese cook-at-table food.
It's simple with a large selection of meat that you cook yourself at the table. They even offer Kobe-style beef! It's a fun and quick way to get your BBQ fix.
 |
Menu |
 |
Fried chicken. Made from rather small bits of flesh, but freshly made. |
 |
"Kobe style" beef. It was decent. |
 |
Self cook and serve. |
