5 Prague Restaurant Picks of Spring

In the last month, I've been in and out of Prague to settle down while attending events.

During the short trips to Prague I did not have much access to kitchen supplies or time for grocery shopping. I used this opportunity to go out and try as many restaurants as possible. Out of the many restaurants attempted, I rounded up the 5 most memorable dinners in Prague this spring.

1. Bellevue
One of the most famous restaurants in Prague, so well known that taxi drivers know it by name. The name translates to 'beautiful view' which comes from the wraparound windows offering the spectacular views of the river and the castle.

I initially had some doubts about this place, thinking it was just another tourist trap with decent views but terrible everything else. But it exceeded my expectations with not only the views but the level of service, interior decor, and above all the beautiful dishes that were Michelin worthy.

It's no wonder weekends are fully booked at this restaurant.

2. George Prime Steak

This is the highest rated steakhouse in Prague. Again I had avoided it for some time due to having some hangups about this place being a possible tourist trap as well as it being more American than something original. But this restaurant is on a street I frequent on a near-daily basis and one steak craving day I decided to cave in.

Boy was I wrong to not try it earlier.

3.U Zlate Studne

Another restaurant known for its amazing views of the river. This restaurant is on the opposite side of the river, on top of a hill near the castle so that you can see the Old Town below. The terrace, where they offer outdoor seating along with a breathtaking view, is where crowds of diners reserve weeks in advance. Unfortunately for me the weather did not permit and I didn't have the pleasure of dining on the terrace. The plus side was no wait - nobody else wanted to dine during bad weather. Maybe next time.

4.V Zatizi
I've already been here about three times this year and love it every time. Possibly the only high end Czech and Indian cuisine available in town, the dishes are all beautiful and delicious. My favorite part is the mini bread basket at the beginning of the meal - steaming naan and delicate Czech breads.

I always get the Indian tasting menu, but their Czech menu is great too. The servers here have record speeds when it comes to serving food which is great if you are hungry.

5.La Veranda

This was a restaurant that I accidentally stumbled upon couple years back while looking for another restaurant. I fell in love with it and later found out over 500 reviewers felt the same. It's a French Italian fusion with a bit of Czech dishes mixed in. The Veranda is nothing but; restaurant spirals downwards to a cozy little basement that is bright with beautiful rustic French decor.
